Hi all! Long time since I've been active. Hope everyone is doing well

Yesterday morning my 2005 WRX was stolen out of another i-club members shop parking lot in Campbell. This seems like a long shot but I wanted to make it known here. The car was being restored back to stock getting ready to sell in the next few months(I bought a BMW early this year). There aren't many aftermarket parts left on it but it does have a custom paint job which is a blueish white color. Some used to call it baby blue here on the forums which really hurt my feelings it should be very easy to tell if it's mine since the color is like no other WRX that I know of. I attached some pics for reference so keep your eyes peeled!

side note: the wheels are currently STOCK 05 wheels painted white. Also the second pic is inside so it doesn't really show the blueish tint to the car.

Oh man, sorry to hear that happened

I'll be on the lookout though, with a custom paint job it should help it stand out more.

Car was in a spot where you can't really see unfortunately. He's planning on upgrading.

It was my shop and unfortunately there are no cameras in the back of the shop.

Wildes car had been back there for several months as he needed a place to store his old car after getting his new car. I charged the battery a couple of weeks ago when he planned to take the car but his plans fell through at the last minute.

I'm just puzzled over why they'd target his car specifically. They took out a metal barrier in the ground to get his car out. My forester was in a much better spot to steal and has wheels/mods. If it was some meth head, theres a chevy pickup that would have been the better option. I attached some pics and have the recording from a couple of cameras. Unfortunately I lack the skills to do anything with it and the quality is pretty poor.

 

Wth that is just odd, a lot of effort so someone really wanted it.

Yea they did because the PT cruiser was right behind it and it must have been a pain to get it out around that. Not only that but its an automatic wrx with very little mods left on the car. I really hope it turns up and thanks for keeping an eye out guys.

 

That's too bad, buddy. Hopefully the car is still insured.

I hate to see this in my hood. I live in Campbell. I'll keep an eye out for sure.

 

Update after 3 1/2 years! Got a call from Sunnyvale PD last month that they had found the car. They left a message so I wasn't able to get any more details from the officer. Insurance had already paid me for the car and so it was out of my control by now.

What's interesting though is that around mid 2016 I got a letter from Campbell PD telling me I should write them back and say if I had found the car or not, otherwise the car might slip off the hot list. I didn't write back as the car wasn't mine anymore. So it makes me curious that the car was found now and what was going on.

Just figured I'd update the thread and finally close my chapter here at iClub.
