i am having a hard time manuvering the stock up pipe back into its place. ANY SUGGESTIONS???

Unbolt the passenger side mount and push up the engine

 

+1 for lifting the engine. It's a pita to manuver the uppipe around in that little space. I thought getting it back in was easier than getting it out (replaced oem, with sti) though (you sort of just rotate till it pops in)... good luck man I feel your pain.
