i have a catted dp. i will admit, some of it is environmental. you can argue that modding and environmentalism don't mix, but the way i see it, every little bit helps. just like the argument of saving weight by having lightweight lugnuts. the lugnuts alone aren't going to get you a faster 1/4 mile times, its just one part of the whole weight-saving process.
aside from that, if i get pulled over and the cop asks to see my cat, i want to be able to point at something. will it get me out of a ticket? probably not, but i figure my chances are better, and will hopefully go easier on me. jmo.

I found that the hardest part of the uppipe install was taking off that heatshield that covers the part of the uppipe that connects to the manifold, and only because there is a cutout for the O2 sensor which is a PITA. However, once you have it removed, you can just use tin snips to cut an opening for the O2 sensor, and it will go on/off much easier later on. Otherwise, using the remove-turbo method, it wasn't too bad at all.
we tried using a breaker bar after soaking them in wd40 and still no luck. so we then slid a 4ft pipe over the breaker bar and my friend and i both pushed.... bolt didnt come loose but we broke his craftsman wratchet extention lol... took it to sears to get a free new one and dude was amazing that we did that AND the bolt didnt come off haha.
we got a friend to bring over some air tools and that eventually helped haha

well what made it harder for me is that im sure mine had not been taken off since factory in 01/02... so the bolts were basically like welded on there lol...
