STi woes
Man, I'm sad and angry at the same time. Today I decided to put some miles onto my car so I could get an oil change when I get my rear bumper sprayed (3 marks I didn't like and the dealer is going to take care of it). So I drive out and I get to Cupertino and what happens? Some Eclipse with HID follows me for a good 5 minutes. When I was at the turn light, he didn't even get next to me, he even turned off his lights and was 3 car lengths away. Made me feel like he was going to steal my car! Then he proceeds to tail me at about 10 car lengths away. I pull into a street that I'm familiar with and I u-turn and turn off my lights to see if he still follows. Well, he didn't take the bait. Weird guy. Then I drive to find some gas for cheap (I got it for 2.09 then found it for 2.05... bah!) But before I got to the gas station, some guy's car piece (don't know what piece) was on the road and I didn't see it in the dark. BAM! I smash it and all I hear is, CRUNCH CLUNK. That made me sad so I pull into AMC 14's parking lot and I run out to see what i had run over. While I was there some bastard guy in his Corolla S shifts into reverse and reverses super fast and just stares at me. I go back to my car and I get out of the parking lot and he's completely on my ***. Him and his black Civic buddy follow me out. I shifted slowly cause I didn't want to race or attract anymore attention. The guy tails me, goes into the lane at my right, and then cuts me off and speeds off. His Civic buddy does the same thing. While that happened they broke in front of me and I hit my clutch just as I was about to shift into third and my foot was still on the gas while I was trying to hit my brakes, my revs hit 5000... and I only have 685 miles on my car. 
. Damn, that was my bad but still, he broke in front of me for no reason. Bastard.
I love my car and I don't even race or give anybody dirty looks and they all hate me and my car. This just made my day so much worse.

Any how, I just felt like I'd share this. Totally a bad day of driving. I even said sorry to my baby when I got back into her and kissed the steering wheel. Ok, I know I'm weird :P but I love my car!

dude that sucks that your car got that banged up but know this... those stupid *** civics that cut u off and stuff.. the eclipse.. know that you have the potential to absolutely rape them in a race. you live around cupertino you say? i do too and i own a blue STi with gold rims (althought u've probably seen a lot) i believe there are two in cupertino.. wat color is ur car and where u get it? maybe i'll see u drivin around

Damn, that sucks. Sorry to hear. I hope everything is ok. Don't worry about those idiots when you drive. If they do bug me or whatever, I'll just look @ them and laugh which usually confuses them or makes them angry. Good luck and there's always bad days. Just as long as the next one is better is all that matters.

I live in San Jose, but I'm familiar with Cupertino, since all my friends live there. I haven't seen a blue STi around the area, but I must say, I hope I see more STi's around. Mine is white with silver rims, it's in a thread or you can check out Doug's site, he's got pictures of my car next to a silver EVO.
Have you installed a stereo into your STi yet? I need help with mine, just looking for a good shop if you did it there, or I could try to find some i-clubbers with knowledge in it and work it as a project.

Hey, getting a little over 4K especially in neutral with no load is nothing to worry about. Sorry to hear about the rice attack, the best thing to do is not let it bother you.

As everyone before me said, that sux man! But just think of it this way.....they were jealous, because they KNEW your car would take them to the cleaners in a race....and when people feel that way, they think they have something to prove....therefore they drive like jackasses, thinking that it will "intimidate" you. Be the bigger person (like you already have been by not racing) and dont even give them the time of day. Infact, I have found that if you make eye contact with them when they pass you.....all you have to do is laugh as they go by....and that will really "push their buttons!" And YOU KNOW, that you COULD open up a can of whoop *** on them if need be, but you have nothing to prove....your car speaks for itself....LOL

I mean come on, I'm sure a lot of us here would pick races with ferraris, lambos if we saw one just to see how fast it was.

ummmmmmm, speak for yourself man.....last Saturday around 10am I was getting on 680 @ Montegue, and a Blue Lambo VT followed by a Red Ferrari 348GTS went mobbin' by......due to the slow @$$ B@$t@RD in front of me on the on-ramp (merging at 45, GRRRRR)....I was unable to catch them.....but trust me when I say I would'da given it my best shot!

Dude, let them hate. It just means you have something they wish they could have instead of a riced out civic. Be happy knowing that when your engine is broken in and you floor it, they will see nothing but your taillights. Hell, I was sitting at a red light today and some dude in a riced out civic pulls up next to me and starts revving his engine to show of his noisy exhaust. I paid him no attention.

Man, all you guys have good ways of looking at stuff! 
I just thought of a new one... when they do the ricer fly-by, they're only putting more wear on their engine, hehehe. Which means my car might last longer, hehe. No need to race, must keep my baby running

Sorry to hear all that happening to you, but you gotta admit, the car draws some serious attention Why would you race a Corolla, anyways? I'm sure it's even worse for them when you don't because there's not even a chance you're posturing superiority - they KNOW you think they're not worth the effort!
