Im planning on doing a trunk swap with an STi, well first of all... is it legal not to have the thrid brake light? and then the other guy with the sti wants to know how to attach it on to his car? are the holes already there and do you just poke 3 holes so the pieces will fit properly?

 

i thought the trunks of the sti and wrx are the same. just that the trunk levers and locking mechanisms would need to be switched.

 

yea they are the same... but my concern is the thrid brake light. I have a wingless trunk so i need to give him mine. Im just trying to see how he can put it in his car.

 

A lot of cars do not have third brake lights.

well at least on the wrx spoiler the light on it is the back up light isnt it the same on the sti? or is it infact the third brake light? and the law is like cars 1996 and up or one of those years have to have the third brake light. but if you got stopped you could get out of it and just say the car never came with one, really easy.
