Ok so I'm posting my 01 RS on autotrader for sale right... ( unfortunately i dont have a link to shameless plug my own ad right now ) and I'm looking to see what other RS's are available in the area...well I come across an AWESOME deal at Steven's Creek for an 00 RS with a ver6 wing, ver 6 steering wheel, sti titanium shift ****, jdm tails, sti fog covers, old skool wrx decal on the trunk, and some awesome prodrive wheels. I think to myself "wow this guy was suckered into trade it, he could have parted that stuff out and made over 1500$ probably!" So I look at the description and see the following:

i saw that car at Stevens Creek in person. it is definitely one sweet ride

 

now if only i could swap steering wheels and those nifty prodrives!

ok so i call up steven's creek a few minutes ago and spoke with dane or dana (claimed he was a manager) and I asked about the RS and wanted to do the sti swap on it. His first response "Why dont u just buy a wrx??" and i told him i prefer that body style and he rambled on and then asked if i wanted an STi, I told him i was looking at the car, and he said he didnt know how much it would cost, how long it would take, or what it would involve and said it was a case by case basis that they had parts laying around lol and the car was in and out the same day! I then got another call from Mike(internet manager apparently) at steven's creek and i asked him the same thing since he called me back after i hung up since i got the answering machine. He said that he didnt know anything about it, claimed he didnt post the ad, said it could be done since they were ASE certified and blah blah blah and subaru specialists and all that jazz lol. Way to go Steven's Creek, real bright people there Someone else needs to call them up and see what they tell u and post it lol 1-800-792-1693. If you hang up, theyll call u back in a few minutes like they did for me.

I've called Steven Creek Subaru on a few occassion and I think both times, I got an attitude from the two people that were talking to me. I don't know about their dealership. I think some of their used vehicles are on the pricey side. I think I saw a 2000 2.5RS for like $16K or something and I was thinking to myself, maybe I'll just get a WRX or something.

 

16k for a car with over a hundred thousand miles? Big flippin deal, it has rims and a wing.

i honestly doubt that stevens creek subaru did that swap themselves... if anything, some guy traded it in for something better maybe at best.

 

ok so Steven's Creek "Dana" calls me back. Says the RS came back, apparently the guy couldnt get financed and he claims the engine is only 6000$ and the install is 3k lol, now you know that work is gunna be shoddy and not a damn person there will know what to do lol :rotfl: then he tries to sell me an sti as well and i just throw him a bunch of bs to shut him up lol

 

holy crap the actual blue book price is ~$10k, and thats for a dealer retail price. not private party or trade-in. i emailed then saying they are on crack and if they'd let it go for 9k to give me a call

 

so rare to find a 4 door rs

 

Dealers on on crack, but you can get the price down easily I presume... I still get pissed seeing 2002 WRX's for like $22k at dealerships
