Steering rack bushings...
Hey guys just curious who has aftermarket steering rack bushings? And if they notice a difference.
How hard are they to install?

(i figured there should be SOME educational stuff in this forum too

I have the Whiteline bushings on my FXT, and they have pretty much eliminated most of the steering slop. Evidently my car eats steering bushings for breakfast... the OEM ones had holes worn into them when they came out at 30k! Worthwhile improvement, IMHO.
I have the whiteline. Install was a pain but I did it when it was raining outside with very little light.
As for the difference, my car had about 85k when I instsalled them. I felt a very noticeable difference. Made the steering tight and "heavier" which I like. Also it got rid of the steering memory and slop.
I think the noticable difference is greater on higher mileage cars.

I replaced mine myself on my 03 wagoon with Whiteline's bushings. Tightened up the steering feel and overall has a better feel. Have you checked the reviews section? There are quite a few in there IIRC. The difference isn't huge, but you can tell. The install wasn't hard, my old ones came out like nothin and the new ones took alittle wriggling around, but with an extra person on the other end of the rack, it went in easy.
i have them on my car and love them. It gets rid of the slop and makes things feel better at the limit more imput is given back to you through the steering wheel. I have also installed about 3 sets. It easiest to do it with another pair of hands. One to pull and one to put it in. If you read the notes on the instal it will make sense why two sets of hands are better then one.

when you don't have your car on, turn the wheel a little left/right and you will feel the mooshiness of the stock bushing.
If you enjoy quick drives through the hills or go to auto-x or track, you will love them.
If you drive slow, low, and in a straight line like Zoeb and the show boys, then you won't need them except to add something to your 'mod' list.
