Yeah, my $2,4xx Fed refund helped us survive my month off work (after my heart attack). The state refund is going into savings - to hedge against the next crisis.

fed own me 14,xxx and state own me 4,xxx. Happy guy here. I think I'm going to save most of that money until I get some sense how this economic crisis going to effect my job security for next several month.

Do you have any idea how much interest the feds and state earn off you - and other people who do the same thing? Seriously, change the deductions on your W4 and stash the extra into savings. That way the money is there when you need it - not when the government feels like paying it back to you - and you get the added bonus of the interest.

We work for my husbands family business so we pay taxes and never get a refund. Which doesnt bother me, would rather have it this way anyhow.
