State Ref
Ok, so I was popped with CVC27150(a) and the cop told me I could put a silencer on my exhaust and I'd be fine (HKS Carbon-Ti + Helix DP). I figure, B.S., so I put on stock turboback. I go to like 4 Police Stations and each said "Try this station." When finally someone told me, "You can't get that signed off unless you go to the State Ref"
So, reasonable, other than, I can't find any damn information on the State Ref. Googling it just brings me to other car forums saying "Damn I have to go to the State Ref."
For anyone who's done this all before, can you tell me exactly who to call and what to do? I'm getting super frustrated.
(I tried searching but I couldn't find anything. I guess I'm not too good at that thing.)

since you already put your stock TBE on, youve done half the battle. go to any state ref location, i went to one in fremont at wyotech but they were absolute dicks and then went to evergreen college, they seemed more mellow. A lot of people said the station in Alameda is better. hope that kinna helps.

Does your ticket have the "Go to the Ref" sticker on it?
If not, go back to a ny police station and demand that the cop get off his *** & sign it off.

=( Thats what happened to me. My ticket did not have a state ref stamp on the back yet they say I need to go to state ref.. My buddy just got his exhaust tick. signed off in SF. But it took like 2 hrs to find a damn cop to sign it. Cops are just too lazy

if it didnt tell you to go to state ref, then you dont have to go.

If you're in SF, go to any of the area police stations to find an officer, or the Hall of Justice @ 850 Bryant. Ironically enough not many of them hang out at the donut shops (All Star Donuts FTW).
