Starcraft looks a lot more gamer friendly than those other games. And plus, i think most people play starcraft because its one of the most fun and balanced RTS not because of the graphics. (There are so many RTS games with better graphics, like warcraft 3, yet so many people are still playing starcraft).

Yeah, Starcraft isn't about amazing graphics. Its THE best RTS to ever come out since you can go back any time and have fun playing it.

I personally dont like the 3D look of Age of Empires 3 and Warcraft 3 and the like. SC is just way better in terms of use and just overall fun.

only starcraft would they make an alternate korean version. this game will single handedly unite north and south korea.

the gameplay is amazing, completely new dimensions of play.

and yeah about the graphics, they want the game to be accessible to everyone just like all other blizzard games. with low system requirements and free b.net they ensure maximum sales. this has been blizzards strategy since diablo 1 baring WoW of course.

 

i think supreme commander is better overall. starcraft might be fun.. but supreme commander has a commander that if he dies... he destroys everything around him haha..

 

i hope youre not serious.. an exploding commander is the reason you choose one game over another..

starcraft has so much more character, it has that blizzard touch to it.

 

To me, it looks like Blizzard is just reusing graphics from WC3. Also, they're using similar techniques such as "blink" in SC2. I'm probably going to get flamed for this, but I'm expecting a HUGE letdown.

 

I'm just afraid that this Starcraft II will be like Starcraft I but better graphics. Yes, the balance is perfect, so how can they improve SC? THey really can't, add new units and graphics? What else can they do that's innovative? Only time will tell. I use to be really into RTS's, and I never got into SC but rather age of empires, rise of rome TRIAL version because in the trial versoin, it's as balanced as SC, you only get 1 map but you develope such micro managing games that's it's amazing. I gotta try C&C 3 and Supreme Commander, been outta the gaming world for a while..

guys, you'll never guess what i did today. i logged onto bnet and played sc orig version. it was kick ***. everyone was hyped about sc2 and there were HELLA ppl on today. i wonder why....

 

oh theres a rumor that says only can only have those graphics if you have vista. something about diectx10 which is vista only. sucks...

 

sc2 + custom maps on use map settings mode = ftmfw

 

Blizzard has never released a game that sucked, so I am not worried that it will be very playable. I would say that is just my opinion, but I think sales figures and the amount of people STILL playing all the older games should speak for itsself.

I do want to check out Supreme Commander as well...and the latest Empire Earth, but I have so little time for an RTS these days. Armed Assault FTW!!!!
