I'd like to play, but it won't be fair to you guys
J/K! I haven't played in over 10 years, so I am as good as a full-blown newb now
Last time I played was in a 2 vs 2 vs 2 vs 2 tournament (just a small one, organized by us high school seniors) all the way back to 1999. I've played the game longest compared to the other 7, so I considered myself the #1 individually in that particular match. Yes, I was that (over)confident back then, especially when considering I'm one of a few handful players that micro-manage then.
I was paired with possibly the #3 best individually, so we agreed to attack #2 early on as he's quite a handful when the games goes over 10 minutes. My teammate played zerg and launched a mutalisk rush (I'd say the fastest 24 muta I've seen without the cheat/bug thing), while I pulled off the fastest reaver drops I've ever done. As expected, the guy was already loaded with hydras and lurkers, but he still got demolished as his teammate could only send a handful of wraiths.
Unfortunately, my fastest reaver build = defenseless base. I got attacked by about 3 dozen dragoons, and had to flee probes to my teammates secondary location, and pretty much re-build. There was a one hour limit on the match, so in the end, the pair with most points win. My teammate got highest, but I only got 5th or 6th, so we lost to that pair that attacked my base.
So losing on the first round of a tournament the way I did, I "retired" in frustration
I still played around occassionaly doing 1 vs 4 or 5 against the "stock" AI (I heard it's vastly improved now, though), until I stumbled upon another geek game: Ragnarok!
I'll have to remember to borrow my brother's CD's when I visit him....

i heard that during interview, boxer plans on returning to play bw after his service in military and after playing for airforce ACE.
but soooo many good players these days, makes boxer look like an average player, along with other old school players.

2:2:2:2 really is chaotic, but that's what makes it exciting. As chaotic as it is, it is my favorite, especially when I play Protoss on a map like bgh. As soon as I get to mind control a drone, I can't remember the last time I lost with carriers+reavers+devourers+lurkers. Hence my frustration when I lost.
Where do you guys watch videos of these international tournaments? I'm obviously very very outdated lol

search violetak 's account, they have most of the games w/ English commentary. Other accounts on bnet that posts vdeos are CholeraSC, klazart, diggitysc, and a few others.
