SSCC 90 Mile race to vegas
Has anyone done this or know anything about it? This looks awesome, though I think i would want an oil cooler first.

I know a few people that have run the Silver State. From their description it sounds like a great time. It's like a high-speed single-stage TSD rally.

It's a fun course to run going from the Old River Cooridor Upper Pahranagat Lake area through the Wildlife Refuge and South into Vegas.
1. Prep your car and if possible get out a day or two ahead and do a couple freeway runs to be sure if flashed your engine's running good.
2. Bring water. Addt'l Tips Here: The oil cooler idea is a good one also, better yet also flush your coolant. I've seen people run straight coolant for their run. If you run your A/C to keep the cabin temps cool before or during the run for too long you're gonna heat soak the engine once you get up in speed. Besides water to also drink is a good idea. Most guys run ice bags on their upper intake under a Pop-Up before their runs. Some guys even run an enclosure around their airbox with dry ice to keep temps down through the run.
3. Coyotes, Coyotes, Coyotes.
4. See #3, they don't care if you're even just doing 55-60mph, they'll still play road-chicken with you and win.
5. If old enough feel free to have flashbacks of watching CannonBall Run.

*Still refer to #3 and #4 above.*

**Moapa Valley/Overton... #just sayin.

I'll second the idea of an oil cooler. My FXT managed about 20 minutes of running with a pack of Chrysler 300s and Mustang GTs on I-15 at triple digit speeds until the oil temp climbed to 260 degrees, and it wasn't even a hot day.

) without doing so.
