Spurs @ Lakers

Why are TV commentators such frickin TOOLS.

The Spurs are leading the Lakers this season head to head at 2-0.

Kobe is doing great. Sure. That's all fine and good. But I'm not sure if they noticed that the LAKERS are LOSING!!! TOOLS... Kobe this, Kobe that... Well it doesn't really seem to matter what he does cuz THEY'RE STILL LOSING...

sorry had to rant cuz my boy the Admiral is out with a hip injury and Duncan is kinda suckin it up right now.

For the past 3 seasons, the lakers are known to be a playoff team. They can turn it up in the playoffs unlike the spurs, they choke every year in the playoffs. And keep in mind that Shaq is still trying to condition himself. All they have to do is make the playoffs and they can do some serious damage. And besides, the lakers are still in the hunt. And as far a Kobe being a "whiner" (as you may call him) he torched whoever was on him and he never whined once. But Duncan on the other hand, b!tches and moans and acts like he has never fouled anyone in this league everytime a foul is called. Robert Horry said it best...you aren't a real champion if you cannot defend your championship because the 1st time is a fluke but if you can win back to back, that tells a lot about the team. But I guess the spurs cannot relate to that. And to think the spurs won it all in the asterisk season (shortened season to 50 games)....

~joe

And about David robinson, his best years are WAY behind him. He doesn't ever score above 10 pts a game. Kevin Willis did better that him today. David cannot take the physical pounding in the paint. He is just too old.

There's the old saying. Tis better to be lucky than good.
There's another old saying. If you can't beat 'em, BUY a better team. Laker's adage seemingly.

Robinson doesn't have to beat Shaq at his own game... how stupid would that be. It's called strategy and tactics. Robinson = experienced and smarter player, can actually shoot and pass... who'da thunk it???
Shaq = strong and big. No game beyond that.

without making this as a laker bashin thread, joe brngs up the point that they are a playoff tem.

afterall the playoffs is a diff seaon once it begins...

but, in the last two years, they were either 1 or 2 rank.

they better have a heck of a 2nd part of the season if they dont want to open the playoffs at sac, dallas, san ant. or portland...

fortunely for us warriors fans we can only look up! nothing to lose and everything to gain.

lakers, as world champs expect nothing but a 3-peat.

That is the dumbest comment I've ever seen about Shaq.....

Wake up, Shaq doesn't play for Orlando anymore.....

Shaq is now one of the best passing centers in the league, and he has great finesse moves as well......

Finally, someone who actually knows basketball!!!! How the hell can you (sjt) say all shaq has is size and power. Those 2 things are merely advantages. If all he has is that, then he wouldn't have dominated this league for the past 3 years (even does it while not a 100%) If all he was is big & strong then someone like Chris washburn or Brian reeves would have dominated this league as well because those 2 are bize and strong but they didn't because they lack a thing called TALENT and SKILL (which Shaq does have). In the NBA, you cannot have a long career if you didn't have talent & skills. So I guess all the commentators, national publisists and coaches in the NBA are all wrong about Shaq being talented and skilled while being the MOST DOMINANT right now and you are right, right?!????? Please dude, try again...

~joe

And enough about the Laker bashing, how come no one came forward or said anything when they had their 7 game winning streak??? Just wait until the playoffs, when and if the Lakers make it (which they will), you will see the real Lakers. The only real contender is Sacto. Spurs will CHOKE again, Portland will self destruct again and Dallas is all Offense (you need D to win a Championship) and is VERY weak deffensively in the middle.

Kobe's putting up ungodly numbers. He puts up assists like a point guard, crashes the boards like a power forward, while stealing the ball over 2 times a game and slowly, but surely, creeping up on the top scoring placing behind T-Mac's 30.7 with 29 ppg.

Shaq. Well, ever since he joined the Lakers, his game has evolved. I mean, how many other centers do you see in the league that averages at least 3-4 assists a game (aside from Vlade Divac)? His free-throwing's getting better. Yea, people may just say he really sucks because he's just a big guy who can dunk, but how many centers do you know who can utilize every inch of their body the way he does to overpower his opponents? Anyone can be a big fatass and still not do jack crap at all. Just look at Shawn Kemp and Vin Baker. Hahahahha. Not saying Shaq is a fat guy, but you have to give credit where credit is due.

Shaq's still got a few more years in him and he's still putting up awesome numbers even though Kobe's one of the top 3 scorers in the league. David Robinson's back problems and various other injuries are catching up with him. The Admiral's time is starting to end. So how can you say an older guy with a bad back is that much better than Shaq?

I'm not a fan of the Lakers, but I know good players when I see them. Now, how about that Tony Parker? The man's on FIRE! The guy is only 20 years old too. He's got the skills, he just needs to learn how to make better decisions and learn to play a lil' more D. I'd say he'll be an all-star by next season, if not at least by his 4th season. He'll eventually average 17 and 8 down the line. Tim Duncan, man, I'm still wondering where the hell he's gonna go when his contract runs out this summer. They've got a nice squad with Stephen Jackson and Mailk Rose added as role players. They just need to add another decent center somehow since Duncan feels more comfortable as a power forward.

The Lakers got lazy early in the season. Now they'll feel like actually earning their wins and kicking some ***.
