Speed Trap 580/680 Danville and Pleasnton

I heard starting tomorrow(wednesday) there was going to be a zero tolerence speed trap on 580/680 from Danville to Pleasnton. Just a heads up. Hopefully its not a repost

Actually I almost did get one. They were being real *******s. I was on my way home with my GF from a club, I had a few drinks, but I wasn't drunk. They pulled me over, and told me to get out and take some field sobriety tests, which I passed all three just fine. Then gave me the brethalyzer and I blew like a .05 or something. They couldn't get me for DUI, so then one of the cops starts snooping around my car and asks if I took off my cats, good thing another call came on the radio, and they just wrote me a ticket for speeding and let me go. I used to think CHP were better than city cops a long time ago, they seemed cool. Now they're a bunch of ****ing *********.

Are you saying that it's only on 680 and it's between danville and pleasanton? I live in Pleasanton, but I take 580 everyday to Hayward, but once in a while I'm on 680... just wondering if I need to watch it on 580 in pleasanton too based on what you wrote.

I just did a bunch of searches for news related to chp and their zero tolerance program and then some other variations and the last crackdown they had was on i-80 on 11/8 or so. I don't think that they are officially doing anything on 680 other than maybe doing some speed traps, none of that "you better be going 65" crap right now. They usually announce that on the news.

I've been getting radar detector activity on the eastbound side of 580 recently. This might explain the added presense.

Thanks for the heads-up

which radar detector are you using? i just got my V1...wondering if (or how much) it'll help with detecting these speedtraps by way of radar presence.

I drive 580 from pleasanton (bernal) to hayward everyday, and do far I haven't gotten anything on my radar... I know it works too

Well, we should always be "playing it safe" anyways!
