'Speed holes. Makes the car go faster."

So what the hell are these AERO DYNAMIC BUMBER HOLES"?
Is this some dumbass Honda thing now that all the kids are doing hacking their bumper up and screwing these holes onto them, wtf??

I assume that the "speed holes" help alleviate the trapped air that is getting caught in the bumper from under the car, which would help decrease resistance and make it easier for the car to accelerate. this is just an assumption, since i have no idea what else it could be. To me at least, I would assume that the bumper does not increase drag enough to warrant using those unless the car is around 11 sec and under.

That seems more logical to me, since the metal is only a show part and I have never liked show stuff.

haha, yeah I just googled it.

Hoo-boy what a horrible idea.
Yeah your right, looks like the Honda idiots are doing a poor mans version of what underbody diffusers were made for. Though underbody diffusers not only block off air traps but also smooth out and acelerate the underbody airflow.
Underbody diffusers also arent big retarded holes you cut into your bumper that you have to drive around with for as long as you have the car:rotfl:

haha, the Neon guys got jealous, huh?:rotfl:

You know I actually made a very effective underbody diffuser out of 1/16"aluminum sheet that worked great and probably cost me all of $30 to make. This is just a completely ghe-tto idea that now is being glorified, oh well, as long as I dont see any Subies with them

one more thing about this. At least these guys just cut the holes in the bumper and left it at that. If your already cutting big ugly holes in the bumper, why would you screw another set of holes on top of them?

Wow, $60, what a steal... :rotfl:

Screwing the metal on top of your holes gives it a more finished look and cleans it up. I'm sure it's just for cosmetics. It looks better than having some ghetto holes in your bumper...you know, makes it look like they're supposed to be there and serve a purpose.

I definetly agree. Seems pointless to me to buy something that is only for show. Function or Fashion is how I feel. I am assuming that someone will say that it will reinforce the bumper, but is there really that much force that metal reinforcment is needed? No, not at the speeds 95% of people will reach.

heh, seen a lot of honda civics have those "str aero" bumper hole things on the back of thier ride. I have not seen one that has actually cut through thier bumper to make an actual hole yet though.

HAHAHA! Now that you mention it, most that I have seen aren't cut either. WTF??

Another thing that I thought of is this........If you want to shave .2 (most likely less) off of your 1/4 mile just make more power!

well even if they did reinforce the "speed holes" theres no good reaon to hack into the bumpers in the first place. A decent sheet of amuninum and a set of sheet metal shears and you can cut one out to fit in about an hour, will be alot more effective too. You can even buy some pretty nice ones nowadays for most cars(oddly enough none for ours) heres a couple nice ones for the EVO guys..
