SPC Lowering Control Arms '11+ STi/WRX

So.... I am wondering who here locally has installed the SPC LCA and whether they did it themselves or at a shop... I personally dont have the right tools for it and have spoken with Mert over at RBMS and he doesnt either. Does anyone have the tool to help me out with the install Seems that the bushing needs a certin "press" in order to remove the stock one from.

If you can leave any install tips that would be great too

I had my Cusco rear LCA installed at AI in Milpitas (not SPC though). But I thought it's just a direct bolt on.

Cusco one is direct bolt in. The SPC one has a bushing that goes into the hub assembly which is what adjusts the camber i believe. Strange design and I really wish I had bought the cusco one but since I have this I may as well.

I installed them myself, I think you're referring to the toe bushing? Which I did not install and was not needed in my case. I believe in the instructional video they stated you only need the bushing if you can't get back within O.E alignment specs.

Lowering control arms?

Or lower control arms?

Alex has a pair on his BRZ. Installed them in his garage. They came with bushings... in... them?

Are you referring to the bushing piece that goes into the upper arm that comes with the lower arm kit?

no, the ones he has, the lower bushing on the knuckle has to come out and get replaced by one that is offset. Takes a special in car bushing press to get out.

There's no lower bushing on the knuckle...

SPC arms have a cam bolt that does the adjustment. Not an offset bushing.

There is a bushing where the lower arm connects to the front knuckle if that what he's referring to, I could see that being a pain to mount up in a press.

I was just curious as the other arm bushings are a combination of steel and rubber and seriously pissed me off replacing.

The one he's referring to I knocked something up on the mill and lathe for

Here's the install video.

There is a tow bushing. But that can be swapped out off the car. It's also not necessary.

The design of the arms has changed. But the install is the same.

Here's a video going over the changes.

The SPC works great and fixed my camber issues on the rear.. The bushing for the Toe-Link is optional (at least on my setup), 0 toe on the rear on mine. The white stuff is on the cam bolt is lithium grease, I need to wipe it off.

Make sure you get Part #67660 (not the older model). It's equal, if not better (beefy and boxed) than the OEM rear arm but with camber adjustability. Great price too!

Looks like it!

@Funks did you end up actually installing the bushing or not? I would like to keep at 0 Toe and just run -2 camber. I am actually on the same shocks as you except with RCE Yellow Springs.

That was what I was getting at, even though that's on a 02-07 setup the one on the 08+ and BRZ is a similar pain to remove.
