How do you like the speed bleeders?

Hey thanks for the thought. I'm gonna check out the Winchester place first because it's pretty close to me.

Don't mean to threadjack, but where do you guys toss (recycle?) your used brake fluid? None of the auto stores take it.

a lot. it made the job so much easier. For me it made the job do-able as all my friends and family were either shopping or working before xmas. i'll be putting these on the wifes car this weekend.

with regard to people snapping them, the torque spec is like 4lb. or something crazy low for these things and the design with getting a ball and spring in makes them a little more delicate, but hand tight is really all you need.

not to keep going OT, but I just ordered a set for my wifes car at http://speedbleeder.zoovy.com/ . seems that this is the online store for speedbleeder.com and prices are less than oakos/others.

This is sad that no one seems to have an answer, which means people are dumping them improperly.

Personally, I accumulate mine until I go to a track day. The track facilities usually have some kind of chemical waste dumping and I drop my used fluid there.

call around. some kragen's, jiffy lubes, and other auto shops like napa take it. Just gotta talk to the right person as some of the people don't know.

Hmmm... ok... I should make a thread where people post this stuff as a reference.

BTW, I went to Winchester Auto... they had super blue... fricken $20/L but oh well. I'm not gonna waste another $5 in gas/wearntear trying to save that much.

Also found it looks like Valvolyn Syntech Brake fluid is back! But in a different bottle that is labelled "dot 3 & 4". However the boiling point is the same. I'm guessing they just relabeled this for wider sales (those people thinking they can only use dot 3)

Thanks, if I find any places I'll let you guys know. I keep accumulating bottles so I wanted to properly dispose of them.

Good to know that the Valvoline fluid is back -- I was wondering why they discontinued it. Great bang for the buck!
