Sooo I went to traffic court today...
I got a speeding ticket for going 104. I plead guilty and got a $450 ticket and a suspended license for 30 days. I was shocked that he gave me a suspended license, and he refused to reduce it to a restricted license so I can drive to work. He said I should have thought of that before I broke the law. I have only had two tickets in 10 years of driving.
I am thinking now that I should have just said not guilty and hoped that the officer wouldn't show up for the court date. I thought being honest and admitting guilt would be the best way to go, but obviously I was wrong. Has anyone else received a suspended license for going 100+?

I know I was in the wrong and shouldn't have been driving like that, but I was coming home from a long day of work, most of the commute was in rush hour traffic...blah..blah. Its not like I was weaving through traffic at a consistant 100+ pace, it was only for a few seconds but I got caught.

I changed lanes after getting off the onramp in New Orleans and a cop pulled me over and gave me three moving violations: Speeding 10 mph over, weaving in and out of traffic, inproper signal. It was almost $700 worth of tickets in Louisiana. My license would have been suspended for all that. Luckily in New Orleans, there are as many crooked lawyers as crooked cops.

I got pulled over for "110+", gave a plead of not guilty (They suspend your license as soon as you leave the court), but I still drove.
The court date came along, I showed up, the cop didn't, all charges dropped, VROOOM!

dave, its cause you look like a thug in your black car. ;P
That sucks though man, I would just drive anyway for work if you have absolutely no other method of transportation to keep your job. Just do the speed limit the entire time.
100 is a bit high though. are you running a VF34 or something?

My cousin had a suspended license for going 100+ and he has his license suspended, kept driving, went to the DMV for something else and they said he just had to pay something like $20 to get another license re-issued and somehow got it 16 days into the suspension.
