^^it really does..
Its just funny when people want to spend 1000's on their brake system yet have basic "h" rated tires.
Its not to say I don't big brakes just to have them.. but the article really puts the real purpose of brakes into perspective.

Brake bias is as important for racing as the tires used. Poor brake bias can negatively affect stopping distance regardless of what tires are used.
Racing cars can be set to an ideal brake bias because deceleration levels are predetermined and constant. Street driven cars are meant to decelerate at varying different leves so manufacturers make a guess as to what the best brake biased ratio should be making for good daily driving but not the best for racing applications.

braking distance? as long as you can lock 'em, they're strong enough. It's the repeat stops that get you.

^ better pads will help with that. Also, want rear bias? Hydraulic e-brake, please. That said, I wouldn't turn down a set of Brembos if someone threw them at me.

Ive never experienced brake fade, even pushing hard on a 10 minute downhill commute, i guess thats not long enough. I have Hawk pads, thats all i can read thru the caliper. But its time for new ones and rotors.
but im not gonna base my pad choice on a super non fading pad. I want the dustiest noisiest bite from cold pad out there.
I really want a hydraulic ebrake! that would be nice if i could go into a hairpin and actually slide half the time instead of understeering into a dirt wall.
who has one? any dirt guys?

hydraulic e-brake? Interesting...
seems like you would have to make some sacrifices, going with an all-out performance pad? with big brakes, you would be able to use a pad that compromises less.
I dunno, I dislike brake dust. my wheels are silver, not black dammit
Also, all I have ever used is *****-brakes on my jetta and L, maybe using the WRX brakes from the donor will change my mind on all this
