Something perhaps of use for those needing medical care!

So a situation that arose for me yesterday had me researching options for delaying medical bills (well to a point anyway) and I found this http://www.carecredit.com/ obviously if your credit is shot this may not be an option but while dealing with my own issue I found this and thought it might be useful to someone out here on the forums.

The interesting thing about this card is it seems to be widely accepted (I called some places in the small hours to confirm this) and not only works on humans but can also be used for Vet's expenses (my case).

Anyway I hope this helps someone out.

Mike

I've heard of them before - I think my Lasik guy offered them as an option.
Interest was really high if you went past term

yeah I used care credit quite a bit before, think I put about 4K of dental work on it. Its cool but its pretty much like any other credit card, so if you have decent credit youre probably better off putting it on any other card if you have a better interest rate, I think my rate was pretty high at the time

Better rate or a card with rewards.

Mike, IIRC your dog is getting up there in age. They do offer health insurance for pets. I think ShelterCare was the one I looked into and they had different package levels and some pretty cool benefits (such as they'll pay for a trip cancelation fee if you have to cancel your trip due to pet illness.) Obviously it won't be of any help now that it sounds like you already have vet bills, but it is something to consider for the future.

Regardless, thanks for sharing!

Didn't realize you could use that for pets.

I was thinking about something today... a lot of us have pets and a lot of us have pets that are as family to us. Every year we have been donating money to the pet folks at BAM. I was thinking this year maybe we could donate it to the pets of the BAIC. Someone would have to be in charge of it and it would have to be an OPEN information account. Everyone knows how much is in it. And there would have to be a maximum that could be given to any one person so that more in need could use it.

I know the BAIC and my car club community reached out for me when I went through this last year. It was a MAJOR help. It would be awesome if more of us could use this. I know another member of ours has had some pet sickness issues lately too.

So how about it people?

And mike... like I said before. You need anything... let me know. You guys are in my thoughts and prayers.

Hope thuggs is doing ok he and your family are in my thoughts and prayers

I agree with Ray, that would really help several people on here. Would also show the members a show of thanks for all they have done on past donations. Many people in our own community have been hit hard through this hard economy. Would be nice to help our own out a time or two as we all think of our animals as a family member and not just a "pet." You know everyone here would be so grateful for the help.

Wish I could mate, getting the royal run around right now!

Paid to rush the lab results through yesterday morning and just got told I wont have them until tonight when the Vet will call me back!

Might not be a good time for people to be around the Fremont/Hayward area tonight as there's a chance I might go nuclear!!!
