My uncle had a '74, LS6 454, 4 spd that was the pace car for the Daytona 500. It sat for well over 15 years, supposedly all it needed was a carb. I think he didn't want his stupid wife to drive it. So it sat, in a non heated, crappy shed of a garage in Maine behind my grandmother's house. His house was just down the street. Fiberglass was almost completely cracked. I tried to get him to sign it over to me so we could get it restored and back on the road. Well after my grandmother passed the house was unoccupied and somebody who knew the car was in there stole it right out of the garage. Came with a tow truck and pulled it out, the drunk *** neighbor noticed it but thought it was official since they were using a tow truck.

Still would really like to look into it. Will be doing it right and paying someone who knows what they are doing as to keep the car as original as possible. Would be interested to hear the names of the places you guys know, have had trouble finding any place and need to get pointed in the right direction.

Hey there, saw your post in the thread about old vettes. I would be interested to hear the places down south if you could tell me their names. I am definitely looking for a pro in old vettes as trying to keep it as original as possible, so even if they are expensive i'd like to talk to them, if just to get more information. That'd be cool, thanks for the help
