Sold my WRX :(

Well, I had to do it. I sold my WRX (well actually, traded it in) over the weekend. Between the mechanical/syncro woes caused by a botched clutch job at Green Valley Subaru (run a search on Green Valley for the details), Subaru's lack-luster dealings with that situation, and my new job which requires a larger vehicle, I finally broke down and got rid of my baby. The dealer gave me $13,900 which I figured wasn't too bad considering it had about 54k miles. I would have sold it privatly, but I didn't want to hassle with trying to find a buyer willing to put up with the shoddy 1st gear synchro. Anyways, I just wanted to thank all of you that I have met here on i-Club, and many of thoe that I haven't. You guys made me feel welcome from day one. As much as I don't like SOA, I do love the WRX, and plan on owning more in the future. I'll still be around here from time to time. Thanks again for all the help over the last two years guys.

-Chris

Oh and if you're wondering what I traded it in on; I got a Saturn. That's right, a Saturn. Bought a fully loaded Vue Redline with the 250hp Honda motor and 5speed auto transaxle, two inch lowered suspension, body kit, and 18" rims. It also has a pretty slick black leather/suade interior; all in all pretty slick for a Saturn, but yes I know, it's still a saturn.

p.s. Shameless plug, but I will be selling my TBE and some stock wheels soon, so let me know if you want them.

Couldn't get the same options and everything for the same cost. The original MSRP on the car I bought was just under 33k, but after the employee discount, a $2k instant rebate and some other rebates I qualified for with my credit rating my final price was $22,640.73 before T,L&R. Thats with the RedLine option, OnStar, the upgraded leather/suade, 450watt stereo with XM, 6disc, and sub. I just couldn't come close to that for the price with a forester. Plus my dealings with SOA left a bad taste in my mouth and I'm just not ready yet to give them my money again.

Do you guys think I should put my leftover DPT sticker on my RL?

Chirs,

First congrats on the new purchase.

What year was your WRX? Was it a Sedan or Wagon? I got that same shoddy 1st gear problem...will most likely be trading it in this year. Just don't know what to get yet. Maybe a 06 Wagon.

well congrats on the new car and its a shame to see your wrx go. i would see you from time to time on lone tree. you had the only yellow wrx that looked awsome around here. oh, and if you see me around, wave or honk because your still a part of i-club. i have the silver wrx lowered with carbon ti and rims. good luck with the new car and see you around.
