So this supercell passed by my house early in the AM

Dropped about 7-9 strikes of lightening within a mile of my house...

DAMN that thunderwas loud! Freaking felt like a 3.0 earthquake, and the thunder rolled for nearly 15 seconds. It was ****ing sick as hell!

The only thing I miss about living in the midwest is electrical storms.

It's too bad I hate math or else I was serisouly considering a Meteorological career. Twister is great movie, but little too much fluff

If I had bucks to spare I'd get the Storm Tracker.

If there are ever 20+ consecutive strikes into the ground nearby, look for Tripods.

Definitely... There was the one Tire fire a few years ago, and a storm came from the south east, left over monsoon moisture from the gulf of mexico, it became violent, and was throwing down lightning every half minute for HOURS... that was a sweet night!

dude that cell hit our town hard check this out in the local paper! ha our street flooded half way up the lawn cause the drain was plugged

MODESTO, Calif. (AP) - One man was killed on Monday after a mudslide on Highway 99 caused a four-car pileup, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The victim, Antonio Gandarela, 50, of Modesto, died after he drove his Honda Accord into the muck that covered two lanes of the freeway, lost control and slammed into another car that had already spun out of control in the debris, authorities said.

The mud came from an embankment on the east side of Highway 99 that washed out during heavy rain. A Chevrolet pickup truck was the first vehicle that went out of control at about 4 a.m., followed by the Mercury Cougar that Gandarela struck with his Accord while traveling about 60 mph.

Two women got out on the freeway shoulder to help the victims, but a fourth car - a Saturn SR2 - lost control as well and struck them.

Gandarela was pronounced dead at the scene. He was the only driver not wearing a seat belt, the CHP said.

The driver of the Mercury and the two women suffered minor injuries and were taken to Doctors Medical Center and Memorial Medical Center for treatment.

All northbound lanes of Highway 99 reopened at 10:30 a.m. after closing for more than six hours as authorities investigated the accident scene and road crews cleaned up the mud.

Yep. The time frame looks to be right. Too bad that guy passed away though, it pays to buckle up.

I was at my g/f's parents house in Clovis with her for Christmas day and spent the night there. It was so crazy listening to the storm. Somewhere around 4:30am. We got up and were watching it out the front door. It was freaking out her parents dog, a huge *** Great Dane. She was scared and was trying to get as close to us as she could.
