So my HK pistol broke today...

I was at the range shooting with some buddies. We were finishing up, and I was going to shoot the last 10rounds thru my HK P2000. I loaded a full magazine and racked the slide back. Then I noticed that the hammer didn't get cocked, which its supposed to when you rack the slide back to chamber a round. Hmm, so I press checked the gun to see if there was a round in the chamber, there was. So I decide to just manually **** the hammer back. No go. The hammer wouldn't stay cocked. It kept moving back to the double action position. I tried firing the gun, first shot DA. It worked. Then it would fire in single action mode after that. I finished shooting and decocked the hammer, but found the decocker was super loose. It was freely moving up and down. WTF?! I packed my stuff up and went to talk with one of the guys at the range. Their range rental P2000 has the same exact problem as mine. They're just as confused as I am.

This is the 2nd HK I own that broke. My other HK, a fullsize USP had a broken trigger return spring. And it took forever to get back from the HK factory. They did fix it though. But HK's customer service sucks major *****. Does anyone know of a local gunsmith that could fix something like this? Thanks.

Haha, yeah seriously. Well I have 3 SIGs and a couple Glocks too. Never had a problem with any of them. However HK seems to one pain in the *** after another. I'm not getting any more after this. Ugh!

Get the Tactical USP .45. Seriously, it's an awesome gun.

I have the USP-9 full size frame with no issues. I've fired tons of rounds through it over the last 6-years or so. It's been rock solid. My friend has a USP-45 and he loves his too. Hope mine doesn't develop those issues. I bought H&K because of their good reputation. Hope you get it resolved...

If you want a good handgun (new) plan on spending at least $500. If I was you I'd buy a police turn-in Glock.
