So lastnight...

So last night, I went to the bar where I had worked, shot pool, poured drinks, and well met so many different people from all over. Though last night was a little different, I originally went in to shoot a game or two. In the middle of one game I found out a friend of about 9 years had commit suicide. It was horrible, I'm still at a loss for words, I don't know what to say. It was extremely hard to tell my best friend who knew him more. He was the first person that I introduced Jen to when she first came to California.

There have not been a lot of people who I have know who has influenced so many peoples lives, thoughts, and so many hearts. He moved around a lot before coming to California, never staying in one place more than 3 months, but he stayed here, and ...

He came to California as a contractor specializing in concrete. One of his major jobs involved pouring 99.9% of all the cement for Santa Row, yea all the cool looking stuff too.. The next time I go there it will be very different. Life will be different.

Rick Young - we will remember you in our hearts forever. Rest In Peace my Friend...

That's awful, I'm really sorry to hear it.

Suicide is the worst, it's already tough to deal with the fact that someone died unexpectedly, but suicides are worse because of all the baggage that comes with it... To know that the person was so miserable that they wanted to end their lives...

I've gone through a few of these and it's been rough. The worst I think was when a guy I went to HS with hanged himself in the gym because he took his dad's car out without permission and crashed it, and since he was so afraid of his dad (who used to be a drill instructor) that he decided to take his own life rather then to face his father.

I remember seeing his father at the funeral and I honestly don't think I've ever experienced a moment that has been more sad and screwed up then that. His father couldn't talk and fell to his knees at the casket before they lowered it down... It was one of the hardest thing I've ever had to watch.

I know how you feel man and there's little I can say to make you feel better, so I'll just say I'm deeply sorry for your loss.
