when i took online traffic school like 5 years ago they would have you take a test, you hit next, they show you the answers and then you submit, so you could hit the back button and correct any that you had wrong then move forward. 100% done in 30 minutes. not sure if its still that easy or if they have figured out that it was a joke it was so easy

Depends on where you are. Santa Clara County online has a bunch of tests that you have to get through. Once you have completed these, there is a final on-line exam. If you pass this, you then have to sign up for an externally moderated exam at an approved test center.

My housemate did this last year. He said it probably took longer overall than the regular traffic school, but you can break it up at your convenience. I opted to do the regular traffic school because the on-line one sounded like a lot of hassle.

Santa Clara also charges $34 whether it is on-line or you go to the school.

What are some sites for these online traffic schools? I need to do it as well. My ticket is being issued by a San Mateo court...does it matter which one I choose?

yea, actually it does.....http://www.scselfservice.org/traffic.../schooltxt.htm

Santa Clara county is the only county in the state that ONLY allows you to go to traffic schools that are approved by the county (regular traffic schools), and there is only ONE online traffic school that is approved for SC county.....all the other counties in the state give you the choice, as long as the school is approved by the DMV. I know, I just got back from paying my fine and getting the traffic court paperwork from the courthouse about 2 hours ago.

Santa Clara County
