So I went shooting for the first time...
and loved it!
i've always been a fan of guns since i was a kid, had my fair share of bb guns since i was 7 years old and lost interest when it became real when i came to the states in 94.
anyways, after shooting a real gun, glock 17 and hk usp to be more specific, i'm actually thinking about putting my all-season tires aside and getting a pistol.
i know there are couple of known gun people around here so i just wanted some recommendations for a pistol. i'm looking to spend below $500 but $600 if its a really nice deal for the piece.
glock felt great, i loved the sight on it but the trigger seemed too sensitive to me, where as the usp trigger, i would have to pull the trigger back and it'll stop, then pull a little more, i really like this feature.
after doing some research i'm falling towards cz75b or cz75 sp01.
looking for 9mm, gotta start from the bottom.
inputs will be awesome!
oh and a picture, targets were shot from 7yrds and 10-11yrds

I've heard it many times for choosing a gun. Find guns to try. Many ranges have rental fleets, check with friends etc.. Shoot a bunch of different guns. All our hands are shaped different and we all have different things we like.
Glocks are a good gun, but I preferred the Springfield XD9. Couldn't even tell you specifically why. It just felt better and I was a bit more accurate with it.
So shoot whatever you can get your hands on and then pick the one you like. Just like a car. Deciding what you're going to drive based only on what someone tells you would be a little strange. You gotta get out there and drive to see what you like.

Renting guns and buying the range's ammo is very expensive. That's how they make their money. If you want to shoot for cheap, buy your own gun and reload your own ammo.

Wow, that looks awesome. I don't know anything about guns or shooting range but from the looks of your target, you seem to be pretty darn accurate.
How was the place BTW? I'm reading reviews on yelp and it looks like a great place to go. My friends and I wanted to go to the range and learn to shoot. We were thinking Target Master in Milpitas but now I think we're going to go to this place. My friend wanted to just go and rent guns and start shooting, and lol we don't even know how to load a gun. Anyways, 50 bucks for the beginner's class w/ a .22 caliber looks like a great deal! I think I'm going to head there tomorrow actually. Good to learn on the .22, and then we can step on to the other guns if we feel like it.

Yeah, it is expensive, unless you can find a place that lets you swap pistols for no additional cost. Then you just control the cost by how much you shoot. I'm curious if there's any place in the bay that just has a flat fee for rentals, and you can swap unlimited times? I like to try new guns, and when you have to pay a rental fee per gun, kinda kills it for me.
Good on ya.. More people should learn to use firearms..
If more people in the BA learned to shoot, there probably wouldn't be such stupid, ignorant laws in this area, then again.....
Careful with guns though.. Two or more have a tendency to multiply.
CZ makes great stuff.
Best part about CZ is you can get em in both Double or Single action.
EAA _(European American Armory) is another option if you like the CZ feel.
I have a G-21 (1st Gen) myself but I actually lightened the trigger.
I want to get a XD next but will probably wait til I move to buy.
HK are a bit overpriced IMHO. But your mileage may vary.
