So last sunday it was hella slow at work and... I got bored...

Naturally I hoped on one of the computers and started surfing i-club where I came across the thread for the upcoming Treasure Island meet. I see the date and I realize that I will most likely be able to make it so I open the thread. In the thread there are some pics from the previous meet which I was at. I clicked one of the pics to show my coworker. When I clicked on it I realized that the image is HUGE. so I though to myself and determined exactly how bored I really was. Then I downloaded the image (sorry jeff) and exported it to out print server for out large format HP Z6100 (sorry again jeff). I turned around and saw that we had our 24" wide roll of paper loaded, so I set the smallest edge of the image to 24"... well, when I did this, the print server (to keep the correct scaling) adjusted the long edge. the long edge came out to be about 101" long... I sat there for a second just staring at it... then my coworker came up behind me and clicked the "print" button... I said screw it at least my car is in the leading edge of the image so I can just cancel it once The PedoVan comes out... well...



It was coming out really well... so I just let it continue...

and now I have this in my room...



It looks great, the whole thing is extremely clear. the only downer is its size... this thing is HUGE! I had to take down my other posters to make room for this one.

But really I just want to give Jeff superdupercrazymadness KUDOS for taking such a baller picture. Thanks Jeff (sorry for reproducing it without your consent)

That badboy is about 17 square feet, for the base paper (which that is) it runs $7.75 a square foot. So... 17x7.75+tax~$142.61... yeah... Sometimes it is cool to work at Kinko's... Not sure if I can get away with making another one...

the whole thing was 7 images stitched together

i've done a pano of sf/oakland/alameda from the berkeley hills using something like 150~ images. but it's like 1.5gig or something crazy. i'll have to see if i can find it.

 

Oh ****! So... I guess I need to bust out the 36" roll...

But damn... SEVEN pictures... that is some damn good stitching...
