not sticking up for ATT or Comcast here but yeah this was inevitable. Nobody could have predicted 10 years ago how much bandwidth residential users would be going through nowadays. But still, Comcasts 250gigs a month is still over 8 gigs a DAY for a 30 day month! and if you go over its an extra $10 for up to 300gigs a month. If youre planning on using more than 10gigs a day everyday of the month you should probably be on a commercial internet plan, not a residential

So here is a question I have tho. They say that only less than 1% of people use over 250g of data a month. If they need to throttle bandwidth to save their infrastructure, how is that going to help anything as they will still have 99% of people using the same amount, which according to Comcast, is bringing down their network.

That is exactly why we got banned. We used 1TB two months in a row. The stupid thing was they were unwilling to charge us more or move us to a different plan... they just banned us. Weak-sauce Comcast. We really did want to give you more of our money.

People don't really understand how much data things really use. Most people are watching a few YouTube videos and e-mailing or surfing low usage sites. You get into real stuff and the data adds up really, really fast.
