yeah...my gear is pretty old now, but no real complaints other than normal wear & tear. actually, i have only been riding on the current set-up since feb 2000. i scored thanks to tri-city's late season deals back in spring '99, but didn't wanna jack a new board w/ early season conditions so waited till there was serious coverage. bah...that got old quick.

also, just hit up boreal(yeah...i know...big whoop) yesterday. sux that we haven't had any significant precip for almost 2 weeks now, and the forecast doesn't really have anything meaningful for yet another week. c'mon y'all we need to do our rain/snow dance at the end of every meet. *****' natcha' needs our encouragement!

Just picked up the best pants I have ever owned today at SFO. Last year's Burton Ronin's for $119 (marked $189). They've got an insulated liner that zips out. Soooo comfy and a hell of a lot less restrictive than my old pants. I can't stop talking about them

the helmet makes me feel constricted when im riding. im not worried about looking cool they are just uncomfortable. i dont go catching my edge going mach 6 on some ice. thats just asking for trouble. i have bonked my head on rails, been knocked out, all that fun stuff.. but i have the perfect medicine :banana:

LOL! after reading all the posts, I think i need a new board this year. I still have my old school Sims Soul Carve! It's not very good for tight trails or short turns but when the terrain opens up, it's Vokl wood core launches you into some sweet large radius carves. Maybe looking into a Malolo this year. Anyone demo one yet?

 

damn...that's the same board I road last year...I had the venom..but it's the same board..different graphics.....same height..but I've got about 90 pounds on you..haaa.

come mid January I'm down for the wood...can't freaking wait man.

 

Yeah jan will be tight, we have been heading up already. It's been sick tho, tons of fun terrain tis amazing how much you can get to considering the amm. of lifts open. good snow.........but yea the amazing part (half the mountain) is still closed, but once the backside/sunrise open on the 20th and we get some snow it'll be sick. We should for sure roll up......


yea i went to a 163 from my 156 this year...hehe.....its sweet i got it at copelands a couple months ago for 230 bucks brand new so i had to get it. I'd been lookin for the beta for days but could never afford it.........

Actually I think might be the beta level. I was trying to get the limited..the gold duo. I was going between that and a burton..shoot can't remember the name now. started with and R. Was their stiff high end board. Both were hard to find...I came up on the Venom for $450. so I took it.

I remember back in the day...the short board phase...I went from a 161 alpine board...I raced on it. To a 152..haaaa. since then I've been working back up. 156, 159, 163, 166.

 

werd yea, i almost got a unused 03 super duo gold for 330 or something but couldn't afford it.
