SMOG question
i bought my 04 wrx with only a turbo timer and a bov oddly, but i never really cared about it cuz im too lazy to uninstall it and im gonna most likely gonna need them when i start modding it...but i gotta get my car smogged, and i heard tt is illegal now..should i take them off? or just set the turbo timer in off mode so that when they turn the key, the engine shuts off anyway? and what about bov? whats the deal with it being legal or not...
any help appreciated thanks,
brian

Id leave it on if you know it will pass. i go to Cornerstone Gas Station in Felton, HWY 9 and Graham Hill. Those guys dont care about anything. (i asked them about my exhaust and the guy just laughed)
Then you can eat at Taqueria Vallarta across the street.

I say leave the BOV if u know its gonna pass, that is if u go to a regular smog station. If yer required to go to a smog only station, then they're a lot more strict n u should take it off cuz u might fail the visual inspection. But yea, running a lil rich might effect yer emmisions so use yer judgement.

bov = definately running rich? i got some time and a little extra cash so it wouldnt be a problem to get a stock unit and put it back, but where should i get one from?
I duno bout definately running rich but u dont want to backfire or afterfire or whatever while their testing it. Jus borrow a friends or look on craigslist for a stock unit. It only takes like 10 minutes to install. I bet LICmotorsports got a couple used ones lying around.
Yeah, I lost my stock bpv. It's somewhere in my parents garage. I have to smog soon too. So I went onto Craigslist and got a stock one for $20. I was going to borrow my friends but hey I might keep it on for a while. I am going to miss the phiiishhhh sound.
