smog check with guages

Quick questions. I changed my 02 wrx back to almost stock. Currently runing accessport stage 1 with borla hush only. I think that will allow me to pass sniff part of the smog check.

But I also have aftermarket EGT and oil pressure guauges - along with oem turbo guage. Very flash. Would that be still ok to pass smog check.

Thanks

i don't see why not. gauges don't change the cars emissions.

I'm sure it doesn't change emissions, but california **** smog community may say something else.
Things is EGT bung taps into the header.

anyone?

ive been smogged with ABS intake piping and a dirtbike filter. Most smog stations dont even look at your car more than they have to...er get paid to.

i passed smog easily with my '02 WRX with those same gauges. the smog guy didn't even bring it up. if it looks stock, and the sniffer passes it, you should be good to go

according to the law,its a fail the reason being is the aftermarket gauge sending unit/sensors/fittings hack into emissions components, but its a crapshoot if you will be failed or not.some techs will let it slip.

If you're so paranoid, un-plug the fuse on your EGT and oil pressure gauges so they don't power up when the car is running. If the guy asks just tell him its only for show and not hooked up. But I seriously doubt the guy is even going to care.

it depends on how it affects the OBD system and monitors, ive never smogged a subie running AP before but your best off going in completely stock if you want to be headache free
