HEY LOOK AT ME... I drove off the road and totaled my car. I'm so cool.

No way in hell would I drive around like that. Big neon sign telling everyone I ****ed up. Be better off buying the car back. Gutting it and stuffing it in an RS.

(not talking crap OP just saying... I personally wouldn't want to drive around with a badge of honor even if I got it on the track... and I'm currently driving around with a dent in my door. It's embarrassing)

Side note... isht would leak like crazy.

Like many people have suggested, total loss

If I were in a similar situation, I'd consider this as a way to resurrect your car

Now that's good advice.

Very cool project, imagine the power to weight ratio of an STI engine in that thing

4.0 sec 0-60 with a stock WRX motor is ridiculous already. It wasn't designed for the 6sp gearbox so it doesn't fit; STI would need to be with 5sp trans is all. I couldn't find the info, but they're saying there is a hard top variant coming too.

The appearance isn't the issue - it isn't as strong as original now and will not perform properly in an accident. For that reason alone, I wouldn't drive it.

I feel the same way. Haha yes, my Subaru is very safe, and yes I Subarued her right into some trees! A Swap would be sweet… but I would be worried about the reliability aspect with all the involved work. Especially since Ive been driving about 45k a year!

That thing would be a great deal of fun! However probably not so fun in snow...

At this point I believe I will be parting many of the aftermarket parts off her. Writing a FS Part out thread now

And in other news, my sister totaled her mazda 3 yesterday Thankfully the 45mph collision with a tele pole did not hurt her and she walked away fine. I was going to borrow this car while she went to school. I think life is telling me something about cars!
