Skid Plates....
Hi guys I got 2 questions...
First of all: Do i need a skid plate? I plan on getting my car muddy/snowy/dirty and doing occasional rallycross events. My car is probably close to stock height right now on coil overs.
Second question: Does anyone have a rally innovations skid guard I can try mounting up to my car? I want something exactly like this

Unfortunately rally innovations doesnt make one for the 06-07 models. Something like this with a skid plate would be an ideal setup.
Anyone have a skid plate for sale or have the ability to fabricate one for me? Thanks and happy holidays!!!

yea i have and got a quote from primitive. I wanted to get the rally innovations bumper skid guard too if it works. i think it looks cool and also wanted to have the option to mount driving lights on it.
i emailed rally innovations and they said they had no plans on making it for the 06-07 models.
seeing what is out there. thanks again

I have had the Primitive racing plate for my 06 for 5 years, and it has saved my oil pan at least 3 times that I know of. I used to DD the car 100+ miles a day on a rough mountain road where falling rocks were frequent.
The 3/16" plate is the ONLY way to go. If you plan on driving in rough terrain intentionally buy the plate made by a rally driver for rally drivers.

We have full underbody armor (3/16") from Primitive - and have taken hits that would have crumpled lesser plates. We also have his lightbar with a pair of FF1000's and a pair of FF500's hanging off the front end.
We've never had an issue with a Primitive Racing product.

i have the primitive racing one as well, thing is solid! just a couple weeks ago up here in montana i hit a huge rock coming around a corner, barely dented the skid plat, but then rolled under the car putting a hole in the gas tank about the size of my thumb
time for a full underbody skid plate! lol

Ya 3/16" lol. The 1 on my work keyboard sucks.
The above happens a lot on the road I drive on. Remember a chain of accidents where one rock caused a busted oil pan, and the same rock along with the oil slick popped a fuel tank.

It will deff help keep your engine bay a lot cleaner when going off road, plus all the added protection.
