Does anybody know if there is a skid pad around where I can legally and safely test what my car can do. Im looking for about a 1/4 mile by 1/4 mile pad. Thanks.

 

Your best chance imo is going to be out at Alameda Point (assuming the gates aren't locked. of all the times I have been out there sometimes everything is open, sometimes not.)

Now if it is legal, not sure about that one, probably not.

Is that the old naval base? Right next to that hockey/indoor soccer/basketball facility?

 

That is exactly where I am talking about, the big open area on the other side of the fence of that facility.

 

Thats what I thought. Do you go there? How is the ground condition? (cracks, loose gravel, pot holes?) Might be a pretty cool place to take pics as well, no?

yeah you have to have prove of insurance. not just your auto insurance, but a business insurance that would cover whatever it is that you are doing with that field.

 

You can probably play around for a little bit at the Golden Gate fields north lot before the Albany PD or GGF security come around to shut you down.

 

I have seen cops roll through every once in a while. I wouldn't stay there for too long


As for the surface, it is all concrete with a rough finish.
