Why is it that the 3 different Subaru shops that have removed and replaced my downpipe didn't bust anything?

Do the experts have a special technique/equipment?

I've replaced my downpipe twice and didnt even use pb blaster or anything and havent messed anything up either. Just luck of the bolts, how hard you drive your car and how much you torque them down I guess. I don't "torque my bolts just get them as hard as I can get them and I'm a pretty small guy.
