Sid Meier will shock us yet again...

Not sure how many of you know who he is, but I have been addicted to his games since like 10 years ago. Most importantly his Civilization series. It has to be THE most advanced, yet fun and easy turn based strategy game. I cannot wait for Civ IV to come out in November.

Here is some info on it...

The first time i sat down to play civilization, I didnt get up (even to eat or go to the bathroom) for 9 hours.

My friend missed a month and half of high school.. cutting class to play civilization.

He go tto be so good at it.. he could play a difficult game and win in the first 10 or so turns.

I played one of his old games Alpha Centauri. Got pretty addicted to it, then CS came out.

Civilization is simply awesome. I am PC gamer and I try pretty much every game there is. However, I find all games always struggling between being fun and over complex. Some games are great. Like the idea is great and the gameplay is fun. But they are so complex, that I loose interest very fast.

Civ on the other hand is a perfect balance. That is why I have not stopped playing it since the early 90's.

I don't have the patience and tolerance for those micro management type games. If you like Civ and those types of game you should try DOTA for WC3 (Warcraft 3). It's an addon/maps where you play the hero only.

I play Civ III a couple of times a week, I also have Alpha Centari and I used to have Civ II multiplayer set up in my house so friends could come over and we can play because playing real people is a lot more fun!

I used to play Civ III. One day my girlfriend asked why I was spending so damn much time on the computer. I asked her to try it out and she explained to me that games were stupid and she didn't want to play, but she would give it a try for my sake.

I got her started. 8 hours later she emerged.

She asked me to keep her away from the game because it is too addicting.
