Red face Should I take this off for State Referee?

Got pulled over for 27156(b)vc modified emission. So, I need to make a visit to state referee. Wondering if I should/have to take off my aftermarket gauges. They are EGT sensor/probe at passenger side exhaust maniford and oil pressure sensor near/bellow throtle body?

If yes, I think I need stock header for EJ20 since mine is taped with a sensor. As for oil pressure, I have stock cap to plug the hole.

I would take it off. A friend of mine had the wires for the AFR gauge in the engine bay, not even hooked up to anything, and the guy freaked out about it.

I don't see how gauges would affect emmisions in any shape or form... I'd leave them on because there isn't a law in the book that says you can't have gauges. Hell, my car came with a boost gauge stock... I know the GTR comes with ever gauge possible stock... So leave that ish... Worst that can happen is you have to go back again which is less work then taking off the sensors and gauges

And in case you weren't sure, I'm brucelee, I'm the national ref, not a measly state ref.

Do they let you go back and fix your remaining problem if you didn't pass 1st time. I'm talking about state referee here, not just bianual smog check. Somewhat concern that if I don't pass 1st time around, I would have to pay the fine, and then correct the problem to meet BAR's standard.

Lot's work to do...It's going to take a whole day or more.....

I would think the opposite actually. I think they will be more concern with engine bay and under engine rather than interior lighting.

I know AVE failed his ref visit because he had gauges. Ridiculous but true.

yeah the refs are retarded.

The funny thing is that they will freak out of gauges that are not illegal and do nothing at all to change anything but I passed with my old car with a cam, cam gear, fuel rail, intake, headers and a high flow cat. Cam/cam gear and fuel rai all illegal. Stupid.

i have/had my boost and egt gauges on when i went to the state ref. the guy saw the egt sensor, asked what it was, realized it didn't effect emissions, and moved on.

Sounds like 50/50. Although I passed regular smog check with these guages in the past, state referee is somewhat more picky. Anyone have stock header (untapped) I can have?

Yeah, I'll do. But would like to put untaped stock header on. It wouldn't take too much time. I think I will take out oil-pressure sensor too.

Anyone want trade my stock header + two guages (sensors and guage pod all included) with your stock header + some cash?
