If you have AAA, I think they give you one for free if you apply or it's very cheap.

BTW, if you are going with your girl/wife/etc, stop by the Shibuya Love Hotels. It will be an experience that you'll enjoy one way or another.

international licenses are $15 with your AAA card (i just got one a week ago). if the AAA location doesn't have photo services, you will need to bring two passport photos. i would bring them just in case since it'll speed up the process.

remember that you can't make left turns on a red light (like we make right turns on a red light after stopping and looking). be courteous and signal ahead of time when turning since there aren't always turn lanes and lane space is limited.

have fun!

There is also an Autobacs owned second hand store. I think they call it Autobacs second hand market (go figure) I'm more familiar with Osaka than Tokyo so I don't know the Tokyo store locations.

I can say that some of the stuff are dirt cheap. I remember I got a Fujitsubo exhaust for a GDB and it cost like 100 USD. Some scratches but nothing major. The Japanese can be very **** with their goodies and most items look brand new complete with instruction manuals, documentations etc...
