For those who have shiped an exhaust before, how much does it usually cost? Im planning on buyin a carbon ti cbe from new jersey, and he told me to figure out how much it would cost... but I never shipped anything before haha.

Good luck. Most companies like UPS would go by dimesional weight as opposed to actual weight for something as long as an exhaust system. Unless you know the dimensions of the box it's being put in, you'll probably get low-balled on the original quote.

 

really depends on the size tony. have you tried the shipping calculator from the shipping company website ie. usps,ups, fedex?

 

prob 50-70 bucks

They weight a good 30-40lbs, not to mention the over-size charges

Its prob better to ship the midpipe and cannister in 2 seperate boxes. Make sure he packages that **** up real good, I had one shipped to me and it got all fubared

 

I shipped a full exhaust from Eureka, CA to L.A., CA and it cost over $250 I will never do it again. This was because I quoted a guy a price shipped without ever checking. My problem was part of it was custom and it was welded where you used to be able to disassemble it. This made it longer and made it cost WAY more. Once you get past a certain legnth they start to stick it in DEEP.

 

wait it out tony to find one local. not only can it get kinda pricey shipping, it can get damaged on the way here too.

 

DO IT!! Dont listen to Mr. Choi. I think what might be easier is if you start a private account with UPS (not sure how that works, but i've sold and shipped stuff to people that's done that before) and then have him bring the exhaust there and just put it on your account's bill so you know he's not making money off of you on shipping (like eBay).

It's not as expensive as you might htink. I looked into that while I was selling my downpipe. If you can get a box that fits perfectly, you save some money. I actually priced a downpipe at UPS, FEDEX, and USPS. Fedex is always cheaper than UPS and USPS is the cheapest but USPS does not offer tracking. Fedex and UPS offers tracking as a default service. For a 17 pound, 44x17x7(the size of a downpipe box), the cost to ship from California to New York was around 30 dollars. So anything in between will be cheaper than 30. For a catback, it sounds about right for 50-70 since it's heavier and more parts. Good luck.
