I got inside info from my friend that works for the Sharks that the Sharks are going to trade Marleau, Ehroff, and Michalek for Danny Heatley. I found out last Wednesday but he said it hasn't been released because they didnt want to steal the spotlight from Jeremy Roenick and his retirement. Let me know what you think about this. It stung a lil when I found out Marleau is on the way out!

 

marleau and Heatley both have no trade clauses. They would both have to approve it for the trade to happen

 

Yep forgot to mention that. They both did. A couple of teams have been interested in Heatley.

 

Patty is the only one in that group I'd miss. He's just such a professional on & off the ice. But I figured he'd be gone when the issue of him losing the "C" was mentioned a while ago. You can't keep a guy that was demoted from Captain. Heatley will have to prove himself, but winning tends to make that easier on people.

 

While this isn't exactly breaking news it will be interesting to see how this all shakes down. I was discussing this at dinner last night with a friend. I'm not sold on the value, however if it helps get rid of some sore spots it'll be well worth it.

Boyle better be wearing the C come October.

 

Heatly has said publicly several times he wants to play in California and Patty has said if he isnt wanted here, he will also waive his NTC.

 

To bad they didn't get rid of Thornton. I hate that guy. He sucks.

Yeah he did really well in the regular season, but he couldn't get his head out of his *** for the playoffs.

 

Gonna miss Patty. Class act and always fun to watch (reg season). Plus he's a long time shark. Would have been nice to see him finish up as a Shark.

 

He's one besides pavelski that has that instant breakaway speed. Would suck to lose that. I would rather give up someone else...
