Shaft play question

Hey guy is shaft play on a turbo just side to side or up and down. Is it also in and out? Idk how to check it. Haha. Lmk

I think a little of both, but as long as it doesn't touch the housing. Someone with more expertise will hopefully chime in.

But it's normal to have a little of shaft play.

I have seen this turbo...it's garbage; 1/8" axial play...1/16" radial play.

a minimal amount of shaft play up and down / side to side is ok

in out shaft play is no good, might as well use it as a paperweight

Just play with the shaft, if it doesn't feel firm and solid you have some problems.

front to back usually works best. Side to side is okay but not as affective! having an extra helper is a plus....... oooOoh...wait..... n/m .... that kind of shaft play.....
