I've been thinking of going on, but have a lot of questions. i have done mostly track days, so I'm a noob at autox. I think the chassis brace would put you into SM. (Erik can correct me if I'm wrong.)

Total upfront cost for a non-member is $50.
$35 to run, $15 for the weekend membership.
If you like it, the $15 can be applied to the cost of your annual membership.

Usually you'll get 4 runs. If there is a lot of entrants, the runs may be reduced to 3.

If the chassis brace connects more then 2 points together on the car at one time it bumps you into SM. They can only connect two points in order to stay out of SM.

Example is the Cusco H brace. It connects 4 points together. Whereas a strut bar only connects 2.

What Jourdan said. If you're running for fun and your car falls into SM you'd be FUN SM. I'll be one of the registering people so I can help out at the event. I'll have a black STI hat on. You're probably still SM. Also, SSP is a street prepared class, below SM. Classing goes Street (used to be called Stock), Street Touring, Street Prepared, Street Modified, Prepared, Modified.

That too. I think what I meant to say was that people should not be discouraged if they get classed up because of their mods. Just come out and play.

I heard the weather might be a little wet on Sunday.

A few notes:

Take out your trunk mats/junk/etc. prior to arriving and leave it at home. Trust me... Also, wouldn't hurt to invest in one of those big plastic tubs. Throw all your stuff in it, pull it out during the event, and yeah... keeps all your stuff dry, and a poncho never hurts.

JourdanWithaU 02-04-2014 07:24 AM

Crap, I didn't even think about that.

I'll probably just leave everything in the trunk. I drove out with an empty trunk once... Never again.

Tech inspections will be on grid before your run group starts.

If you're running in the morning, you should arrive at O.co before 8:00AM. If you're running in the afternoon, you should arrive before 11:30AM, Registration closes at 12:00.

Water is a good idea. You don't necessarily need to pack a lunch, there are places near by to grab food and there's usually a taco truck on site. Although, the taco truck hasn't been confirmed yet for this event.

I'll be leaving from Berryessa. But I'll be leaving late as I don't need to be there before 11:30.

If you want to run in class, you can be SM with my brother and a few 400+ whp Evos in run group 2 or T2 SM (a street tire only class for all *SP and SM cars) in run group 6 with Huck, Matt, Gagan, and Jourdan. If you don't care about running in class you can be in whatever run group you want. For run groups 1-3 you should be there by 8 to register, walk the course, and get your car ready. For run groups 4-6, you need to be there and registered by noon.

If newbies would like to shadow me, you are welcome to do so. I haven't been auto-x'ing for a few years now, but... I can kind of generally make my way through things. I'll be running run group 2 with the SM crowd.

General question...is there regulation on the type of shoes I am required to wear? Am I going to get smacked upside the head with a tire iron if I try to drive/work in my 5-finger Vibrams? I wouldn't be surprised if this quesiton is somewhere in the rule book, but I am lazy :P

You can wear Vibrams. I've seen Gagan do it. I think as long as you're wearing covered shoes you're fine.

I'm going to do this!! Are they just hanging around there?

They come out to help raise money for their automotive programs. The $20 goes towards it and then in exchange they work your shift for you.

First come first serve for each Run Group, there are only so many to go around.

If you guys want to have the SJSU Formula SAE kids work you and it rains their price will probably be higher than $20.

Hucks car will definitely be the most powerful car I've autoxed.

Totally flabbergasted at the torque...

Rain is always fun in a car.
