hi.

If the STi came in a wagon version, I'd have bought one.
If the Legacy wagon came in a full STi version, I'd have bought one.

I prefer the wagon version of any car, for one reason. If I'm going to have the same vehicle footprint, I'd like to be able to use the space behind the rear seat.

Wagons have become more accepted these days - the Mafia dates back to when we were the "weird kids". I'm a single guy, I should be driving a sports car, or something like that. I just prefer to drive something that can do everything. It can handle, it's a tent, it's a truck, it's a drunk bus, it's a roadtrip car, etc.

I love both of my cars - the reason my wagon gets more attention is because it's more out of the ordinary. I love my STi just as much, but it's a white wingless STi......dime a dozen.

So I was having a debate with a sedan owner about the whole sedan / wagon argument. Couple questions to sedan owners

1) Do you guys/gals feel like us wagon owners think we are all high and mighty? His argument was that you dont see a "Sedan mafia" or anything like that representing for the sedan owners like us wagoneers do.

2) Do you guys/gals feel like wagon owners go out of our way to distance ourselves from the sedan community?

3) Said sedan owner didn't understand the whole "wagon bond" we seem to have with one another. ( wagon owners ) Sybir actually came into the conversation as you really only seem him post his sick **** wagon and not much of his STi.

4) Does it suck knowing that we are 80-100 pounds heavier but have the same horsepower , yet have the ability to carry a dog, groceries, weapons ( in Paul's case ) or the ability to move just about anything with our fold down back seats?

K lets begin !
Didn't feel like reading most of the thread... so...

1. No I do not think wagon owners are "high and mighty"
2. No we do not "distance" ourselves. In fact many wagon owners I've met are actually MORE in to the suby community.
3. Wagon bond... basically we're a minority in the community and any minority seems to find itself in the crowd. Behond that, (purely my experience) many wagon owners I've met... I'd say most are more into the utility of the wagon so its not all about performance and looks for that matter. We snowboard, mountain bike, play music, whatever. That and many of us are family folks and need the extra space. So we have things in common. You tend to hang out with people you have things in common.

Like the hella flush guys hang out together. The ricers hang out together. THe track ****** hang out together... etc.

4. I think it's only 70 pounds.

I was gonna get a wagon but I did a few things...
1. sat in the back seats of both sedan and wagon. Most of my family is over 6 feet tall. more space in the back of the wagon.
2. I tried to fold the seats down.
3. I test drove a wagon.
4. I bought a wagon.

I think if the back seats folded down you'd see even less wagons.

Just go out and get a mini van already.

Wagon owners tend to like the longer lines of the wagon. I am a fan of all wagons. As utility goes, it's a no brainer. The first time you stuff the back of a wagon you understand why wagons own. I see STi sedans day in and day out. Now if I saw an STi wagon; that f'n cool.

Truth. I've put four sets of 18" wheels and tires in my car before. Do that in a sedan.
