huh.....a mechanic trying to make money? how dare they.

plenty of honest shops out there, all trying to make a living.

the OP got off lucky, and now we all know. Thanks for sharing.

+1 for the vendors/shops on i-club.

Yeah I hate it when I take my car to a shop and they are shady, or break things (like bolts) and offer you no recourse but to pay & GTFO.

Today, I was pulled over by my father who is a police officer. He was training a rookie and gave me a breathalyzer test to show his trainee how to do it. I blew a .15 and was taken to jail. FML

Sucks to hear, but hey at least now your car has less miles on it lol. I've had several places mess my cars up. All were recommended to me by people I know. I swear I seem to be that exception where something goes wrong lol. One place managed to tear up my driver's seat on my first sti and claimed it was that way when I brought it in. Another place, ripped off a sideskirt on one side of the car and tried to fix it with duct tape. Then claimed I brought it to them that way lol. By the way, none of these are vendors on here so no one worry haha

My car was sitting in the parking lot of my old shop in south city. We had a falling out so they didnt want to do any work on my car. The shop is only a few blocks away and my old coworker gets his work done there so he suggested it. So i figured it was close enough that i could limp the car over there instead of towing it to a different shop.

Same here. Drove in unannounced and wanted tires. THey had the best price I could find on a set of Falken 912's and they mounted them on the spot. Only downside was they used an impact wrench to tighten the lug nuts.

I didn't really care since I always re-torque them after a few miles anyway.

More importantly they did not damage my wheels!

Sorry the OP had a bad experience...

Ah, Matthel (the owner) is a tool.

He treats you nicely when he's taking advantage of you or if you're doing him a favor, then he blows you off and never calls back when you need him for anything.

When guys aren't interested in you, they don't call you back. I know it's kinda harsh but that's how the dating game goes.
