Peterson still might not be executed for decades, if ever. That is because California's death row has grown to house about 650 condemned men and women since the state brought back capital punishment in 1978, according to the AP
I love this; CA is such a hippie state. I bet I could get through all 650 of them in one day.

he got what was coming to him.

now...why is our death row filled with 650 inmates? are they awaiting a re-trial or is there a leniency period before execution?

It's pretty much political suicide to use the death penalty process.
Ca. is very conservative when it comes to the death penalty... I think we have gotten too liberal.

This may **** some of you off...but bah..my opinion.

From the evidence I've heard about...and I watched the law channel for hours while out on my knee surgery......all circumstantial. Lots of it...but still....all circumstantial. No hard proof. No blood. No dna. No direct attachment to the body.

Any other case. Any other person. Any other situation. Not a death penalty and possibly not convicted. This case was a media hit. Internationally. They HAD to have someone to convict. The focused on one person and got it done.

Is he the guy? Probably. But I would have if I was a juror.... not convicted..unless they got some stuff we didn't. Definately wouldn't have said yes on the death penalty...and I am pro death penalty. Another case. EXACT same set up and result. Not more than a couple years ago in the same area. Nobody said a damn thing...why. She was a poor mexican girl. not some rich white girl with a decent looking "murder" husband.

I think he'll appeal. He should be given a shot. His lawyer said PUBLICLY that he thought Scott was guilty before he took the case. He failed to consult the proper specialists for the situation. He relied far to heavily on the prosicution to fail. On top of that two jurors are bumped and they convict in less than 6 hours.....fishy.

OJ was guilty as hell...walked. To make the public happy. Scott "might" be guilty...convicted. To make the public happy.

Our judicial system is a joke. I pray my freedom never relies on it.

If Scott was rolling around in a Bentley and had the cash to pay for decent lawyers (like OJ's dream team), he would walk for sure. (btw, did you know you are paying for Scott's legal bill?)

Only the poor get the chair.

Anyway, Scott is gonna make Tyrone "Sewer Pipe" Jackson a happy man. And I am glad for that, because Tyrone is probably not as guilty.

I was hoping...

...that he'd be given life w/o parole. That way, when the general prison population got hold of him, he would be everybody's b****, and everyone in prison could slap that smirk right off his face with their c**k. Once they're finished using him up, then they would just make sure he had an 'accident'.

That's what I was hoping for. Something about people who commit crimes against children...they don't seem to be very well liked in prison.

Circumstantial evidence...sure...but there are a lot of coincidences in this case.

The fact that they caught him in Mexico with cash and a "new" beard doesn't help his case any either.

I agree with that our government has gotten way too liberal.
