That's why I hope blake wins the show this year. He's the first artist I've seen on the show. My fiance' had been forcing me to watch it for the last couple years...this year I enjoy it. I think it's funny. We dvr it so we can just skip through and what not.
it's so damn easy to sell music right now. We are in an odd era for music right now. Tons of great stuff coming out because it can....and TONS of ****. how hard is it to make this southern rap **** that's so big right now.....4 words and some deep bass and you have a hit. WTF????

If you have marketability and marginal talent..they'll see it. You go from podunk usa where NO ONE would have found you and you would have waited tables and married the local high school qb former town hero drunk wash up to fake *******, fancy clothes, music videos and some fat bank. See what I'm saying...same person....two different outcomes.

the judges are incredible smart. as are the producers. simon is a damn genius. He is making BANK. Doesn't secrest get like $18million? Some fat contract he just signed.
there are a lot of people that try for the show but it's how you handle yourself once you're on that makes you smart. Some people don't make it as far as they should because they don't play the game well. Some get far purely on playing the game.
look at that one chick that had all those nude/skanky shots and all that. You know she knew she wasn't gonna make it singing. She cashed in on looks/scandle at the right time and you know she got picked up to do some kind of model/acting kind of crap...weather she does anything with it or not...who knows. But she played her cards right.

the judges along with the record executives and producers are truly the real smart ones in all this and the music industry in general right now. But I say..hell if you want it and you got why not cash in on being used and abused while you can. Just don't take it too seriously or yourself too seriously because it will end...and harshly. Like vanilla ice. The smart ones milk and save. Most do not.
