Salinas peoples!

My boss brought the welcome center to Salinas. Basically it's a little bit a good news and good reputation for Salinas to help with traveler information and tourism. Grand opening is Thursday.

Here's a little news blurb. Come check it out. Been busting my butt on graphic for this thing... not the ones you see on this link...

It's actually a pretty big deal to land one of these welcome centers so Salinas has something to be proud of. One of the other front runners was Gilroy.

Place is coming together pretty awesome. The window graphics went up today. Wall graphics are going up today. Etc.

Pretty stoked to be a part of it. We're pushing a lot of new tech in the place too. Video loops, QR code cards, etc. I think we're gonna lead the way for the rest of the welcome centers in the state.

Come check it out!

I don't know Salinas that well but basically if you get off the freeway over by the car dealerships... make a right at that OSH. Flip a bizzy by the chevron and pull in to the parking lot where El Pollo Loco and all that jazz is. It's in the corner. Backs up to the fountain.

I'll get the address later. Gotta go home.

meh, Salinas seem like a lost cause. If news wasn't running storys of people getting shot nearly everyday that'd be the place to start. Good luck and more power to you for having the will power to do something like this.

Wow, unless that area has exploded with delevopment that's a pretty far removed area for travelers.

Either way, I'll get down to see your work if I can.

Oh, and Salinas has a ton of rich history, character, and charm. You just have to open your mind beyond what the news reports.

I was actually surprised how nice it is. I like the weather where I'm at. It's pretty much just like my house. Cooler than everywhere around it. There are tons of nice restaurants and places to grab a beer. Old Town is rad. The place I'm working is rad. Etc.

Oh... and I can't take all the credit on the design of the welcome center by any means. My boss has been working like crazy on it. Tons of awesome ideas. Salinas should thank him for making this happen. And the other designer I've been working with is probably the easiest designer to work with that I've ever worked with. No ego battles. No nothing. We both just get in there and work and bounce ideas off each other. It's very refreshing.

Never been to Salinas but imagined it was like East San Jose or King/Tully area.

Mind = Shattered

I'll have to check it out sometime.

All I know is that the Salinas PD used Sig P220's as their primary pistols. (Damn fine pistol at that, .45ACP, only downside is the 7 round capacity)

Salinas also has a very rich farming history.

Word... I forgot Bill had a shop out here. I used to go to the Waston one all the time. RIP.

You should try XL Grind House. It's over by the Steinbeck Center. HUGE beers and killer burgers. And there's a nice brew house like 3 doors down. Between the 2 I think there are like 70 beers on tap.

Monterey Bay Brewing? Coast Brewing? I think it is something like that.
