But 4 others perish.

I like how speed kills... Until some drug is involved like weed or alcohol. Then its only the impairment, though warranted, the focus is not of speed anymore.

Truth is anyone driving, impaired or not, at such speeds beyond their driving ability can have such results.

And I'll say it time and time again, how the **** do parents think it's okay to buy kids such fast, new cars?!?

Yea my main point was...irresponsible teen...doesnt matter if he was high, drunk sober or sleeping......this much power should be illegal for sub 18 year olds. When patrick heatley killed his team mate in (atlanta?) They throttled him back to not owning anything over a 6cyl with a governer on it. Shame when the driver survives and passangers die
Heart goes out to the victims families.

Yeah, you can't blame the kid it wasn't his fault. He didn't choose to go triple digit speeds with 4 friends in the car, once that marijuana and alcohol hit his lips his foot was suddenly sucked down to the accelerator, unable to pull his leg from the gas. Very similar to the Toyota problem.

Whether weed becomes legal or not, it should be treated as alcohol. Driving impaired via weed, alcohol, or other substances (including prescription meds) should be treated as any other DUI or DWI.
