Saab bought by Koenigsegg?!?!?!
I wonder if Saab will start making some worthwhile cars now?

We don't have much to go on yet, but Swedish television is reportedly claiming that Koenigsegg, makers of ultra high-performance exotic supercars, and a group of Norwegian investors have signed a letter of intent with Saab to take over the brand from General Motors. Final negotiations will reportedly take place in the coming months.
Along with Saturn and Hummer, Saab was put up for sale by GM before the automaker filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Many companies and investor groups from all over the world, including China, were reportedly interested in the Swedish brand, and despite how crazy it sounds, Koenigsegg was thrown into the list of finalists late last month. What we thought was crazy has reportedly come to pass.
Do you think Koenigsegg and Saab, two automotive brands that share a home country and sell completely different kinds of cars, will work well together? Let us know in the poll below and we'll keep you updated as the story unfolds.

I love new Saabs, but it's annoying that (if they even make them) it seems very difficult to find their turbo/5-6speeds in awd. they always seem to come in fwd.
i would love to have a saab 6spd turbo sedan in awd.

Saab didn't make bad cars really, I didn't mean to insinuate that. Lately their cars have been lacking in my opinion though, kind of straying from the ways of their past. I'm hoping Koenigsegg would breathe life, performance and ideally value back into the brand.

Perfect!
This should be just the ticket, get some people who actually have some passion for automobiles in there and Saab will be back on its feet in no time- GM nearly ran them into the ground with their bean-counting mentality and "design by committee" disasters, but I bet that von Koenigsegg will bring a new spirit to the company that has long been missing.

I see I see, well when the rep was showing me his product and handed me his business card it said simply Saab when asked he said his was a different division of in fact the auto manufacturer. I was looking at the compact version back in 2004.
I hope you can understand how that could easily be confusing.
I understand blowing up tanks is your specialty paul and I don't mean to sharp shoot. Maybe they guy was imbelishing about being related to the same company.
